The anatomy section viewer displays the histology in the middle window, the full anatomy tree for the corresponding stage on the right and in the left-hand window a cartoon view of the stage By default the view displayed will be a transverse section through the embryo.
The histology window has a popup menu at the bottom and a text status line at the top. When the cursor is moved over the image of the histology section the underlying anatomical component will be displayed in blue within the section and the name will be displayed in the status line. A specific anatomical component can be selected for fixed view either by clicking the LH mouse button over the required position in the image or by selecting the component from the popup menu.
When a component is selected then it will be also highlighted in the anatomy tree. The anatomy tree can be scrolled to see all components at this stage and the components with a star ( * ) after the name can be selected and displayed as a blue region in the histology image. Components are selected in the tree by "double-clicking" with the mouse button.
If a component has been selected then the histology view will stop flashing, this behavior can be re-enabled by selecting "No Selected Component" in the component popup menu.
The cartoon view window can be used to change the current section view either to a parallel or orthogonal section. To change to a parallel section then position the cursor over the approximate location within the cartoon and click the LH mouse button. To change to an orthogonal view then select the required view from the "radio-buttons" at the buttom of the window.
